I want to talk about leads. Part 1.
I wanted to send out a couple of emails talking about leads. Since I own www.rapidresponsebot.com (an autoresponder service:) I see a LOT of leads and also where they come from and how well they convert.
I can tell you right now the lists where you buy or are given 30,000 leads are just a waste of time. Frequently I see this – they get imported into your autoresponder and if your lucky you’ll get 5 leads from them. What’s more realistic is you’ll get your account banned due to spam complaints. This is probably the only reason I have to suspend accounts – something I hate to do.
The reason is most of these leads are ordinary folks who filled out some survey asking if they’d like to work on the web etc. They weren’t expecting to get bombed with thousands of emails about stuff they have no interest in or don’t understand (such as internet marketing).
So you want leads that are targeted and have a sense of why they are giving you their email address. Mostly they will be just like you and me – internet marketers looking to build their own lists – and that is fine. You want people on your list who understand that you are offering them products and services that will help them with their business.
